Learn How to Sample Your Yard For Testing After the 2/1/26 Railroad Tie Fire

The Earth Justice attorney representing Sierra Club, Rainbow River Conservation, and Concerned Citizens of Chatmire encouraged me, Karrin Gordon, to reach out to Scott Smith of Blue Shirt Justice League to see how he could help those of us affected by the 2/1 railroad tie fire. Scott has set up a Zoom call to discuss evidence preservation (how we should be collecting soot, ash, and debris samples from our homes and yards), and testing for the full spectrum of toxic and cancer-causing chemicals that may have been generated by the railroad tie fire.

Blue Shirt Justice League is a nonprofit that has already done some free sampling in our area, and sampled ground zero of the fire site on 2/6 (awaiting test results). They have a good reputation and did a lot of work on the toxic train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio in 2023. Please check out this interview about that disaster:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jm47UoLwSqA

You may further check out Blue Shirt Justice League and Scott Smith at these Facebook pages:

If you are interested in joining this call, which will occur this Wednesday, 2/18 at 7p, please email Karrin Gordon at karringordon@yahoo.com.
