Trash at Blue Cove Park and Boat Ramp

Dear Resident-Members of the Blue Cove Association. The overflowing trash receptacle has been removed from the community dock and the area has been cleaned. The association previously voted on removing any and all trash receptacles from the area, to stop this recurring problem.

Each Resident-Member is responsible for taking away their own trash and personal items after each visit, as listed on posted rules. Please let us keep this area a clean and enjoyable shared space.

Just a note.... If we were to ban alcohol at the dock, so would Swampy's. I don't see that happening. People need to be held responsible for their mess and if they cannot abide by the Dock Rules, they will be banned from utilizing it. That is per the instruction's you all signed for when given a dock key. I appreciate everyone's help in keeping our dock safe and trash free.

Trash overflowing at the dock…

This is why the board voted to remover the two trash cans that we had down there about four years ago.

There seems to be the same members who drink alcohol on the dock and then leave their empty beer cans sometimes on the dock.

We should ban drinking alcohol from our dock, there is a city ordinance against drinking alcohol on the river anyway and families don’t feel comfortable with bringing their children down to the dock when there’s grown adults who are obviously drunk holding court on our community dock as if it is their private dock.

If there’s no trashcan down there then everyone will have to pack in their trash…

Let’s hope that these drinkers don’t start start throwing their beer cans and bottles in the River.

Thank you for your feedback, Bryce. Yes, it is a shame. Let's hope that our combined volunteerism and personal ethic prevail in keeping this shared community resource an enjoyable place for all Member-Residents.
