Election Information


  • When: Saturday, November 1st, 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

  • Where: Holy Faith Episcopal Hall, Blue Cove.

  • What: Stop by anytime during these two hours to cast your ballot for the 2025 Board of Directors. Your presence is not required for the entire time, but you are welcome to stay.

  • Eligibility: Only full-time Blue Cove residents can run for the board. You must be present to vote—no proxy voting is allowed.

  • Results: Ballots will be totaled at the end of the meeting and will be posted on the website blog

  • Term: The newly elected board will serve a two-year term. All positions are open, so this is a great opportunity to get involved!

  • We Need Vote Counting Volunteers!!! - We need two residents not currently associated with the board to stay with us and oversee vote counting at the end of the meeting.


The Blue Cove Association is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our Board of Directors! We are seekin uplifting leaders who want to help keep our community entrance, waterfront property, and walking path beautiful for everyone. This is a chance to bring new energy and ideas to our community. The Blue Cove Association calls for a proactive individual, who loves the Blue Cove and is willing to volunteer their time for the betterment of our community. 


Current Board and Positions

Below is the current, once re-elected board and on its' fourth year of service to the community, (2022-2025,) along with the responsibilities for each position. All board members help with welcoming new residents:


  • President (Daniel Mendonça): Assigns duties, presides over meetings, and oversees all projects, including infrastructure and contractor negotiations.

  • Vice President (Mickey Pierce): Supports the President as needed.

  • Treasurer (Sandra Clelland): Manages all finances, pays property taxes, and maintains ethical, transparent accounts.

  • Secretary (Wendy Sams): Manages the association's website and email, distributes community notifications, and records meeting minutes.

  • Directors (Raymond Mikes, Kirk Hansen, Beatriz Isaza): Support the board on all projects and vote on all matters.


How to Nominate

If you or someone you know would be a great fit for the board, please submit a nomination to thebluecoveassociation@gmail.com by 5:00 P.M. on Friday, October 24th. We need time to organize and print the ballots on time for election day. Please include:


  • The desired position (e.g., President, Treasurer, V.P., Secretary, Director).

  • The nominee's home address within the Blue Cove community.


Only full-time residents in the Blue Cove Community may run for the board. The board as a whole, is responsible for ordering new locks and keys for the waterfront property and renew every membership in January of each year. Memberships are not pro-rated. 

The Blue Cove Association Board of Directors responsibilities include maintaining the community entrance, including marquees and vegetation, enforcing member rules at water front property, holding four (4) board meetings per year and two (2) community-wide meetings per year. The board may vote to organize other events, such as picnics, community fundraisers to benefit the Blue Cove Association, and fellowship in general.
